When God calls Himself the Alpha and the Omega, He is using a linguistic boundary to describe something limitless. It is the ancient equivalent of saying "from A to Z," but on a cosmic, eternal scale. It signifies that He is the beginning and the end of everything that ever was, is, and will be.

The title appears exclusively in the Book of Revelation, acting as a divine signature at the start and conclusion of the Bible's final book. It is used to anchor our hope in God's absolute sovereignty:
